Contemporary or Traditional –
We all have different ways of expressing ourselves and we all bring forth our own uniqueness as we approach the Lord in worship. Some folks prefer to worship in a more “traditional” setting, and some in a more “contemporary “style. There is no right or wrong approach, it is simply a matter of preference.
At Oswego First, we want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible, we want you to feel free to worship with all your heart. It is with this in mind that we offer two styles of worship every Sunday, in a relaxed, family atmosphere.
9:00 am Contemporary Service. A small gathering of believers and a loosely formatted service with an emphasis on praising God with upbeat, modern songs and hymns. This type of service seems to be growing rapidly among many denominations in recent years and for good reason. If you like contemporary Christian music and you prefer guitars and drums in place of an organ and choir, this might be the service for you.
10:45 am Traditional Service. A traditional Methodist service held in our bright and beautiful sanctuary. With a glorious pipe organ and superb choir this service has all the elements one would expect from a traditional Methodist Church, but don’t be fooled by the term “traditional”, our choir offers up a nice blend of older hymns and more modern songs in a way that will have you singing with joy. Come and experience what it’s like to be part of the Oswego First Family!
